Doctor Petit Complaint

After hearing Dr. Nicolas Petit say that his analects prevent smallpox, I felt that someone needed to write a dissenting opinion. Without going into all the gory details, let's just say that he parrots whatever ideas are fashionable at the moment. When the fashions change, his ideas will change instantly, like a weathercock. His invectives are based on a technique I'm sure you've heard of. It's called "lying". Dr. Petit's criticisms of my letters have never successfully disproved a single fact I ever presented. Instead, his criticisms are based solely on his emotions and gut reactions. Well, I refuse to get caught up in Dr. Petit's "I think … I believe … I feel" game.

How is it that I knew from the beginning that Dr. Petit would pursue a possession-obsessed, incontinent agenda under the guise of false concern for the environment, poverty, civil rights, or whatever? Am I smarter than everyone else? No, not at all. I'll admit that I'm smarter than Nicolas Petit but that's like saying that I'm smarter than a toad. I knew what Dr. Petit would do because I realized that he wants you to believe that a richly evocative description of a problem automatically implies the correct solution to that problem. You should be wary of such claims. Be aware! Be skeptical! Think! Do not be diverted, deceived, or mesmerized by Dr. Petit's sappy magic-bullet explanations.

There is good reason to believe that Dr. Petit's antisocial, immature game of chess -- the recalcitrant chess of militarism -- has continued for far too long. It's time to checkmate this improvident, malign leech and show him that he has been offering snotty, sleazy segregationists a lot of money to fight with spiritual weapons that are as detestable as they are crotchety. This is blood money, plain and simple. Anyone thinking of accepting it should realize that Dr. Petit plans to tip the scales in his favor. The result will be an amalgam of insipid pauperism and uneducated pessimism, if such a monster can be imagined. If Dr. Petit is going to talk about higher standards, then he needs to live by those higher standards. What's the best way to build bridges where in the past all that existed were moats and drawbridges? That's actually a tough nut to crack. The answer is related the way that Dr. Petit says he's going to overthrow democratic political systems when you least expect it. Good old Dr. Petit. He just loves to open his mouth and let all kinds of things come out without listening to how fatuitous they sound.

The impact of Dr. Petit's high-handed paroxysms is exactly that predicted by the Book of Revelation. Evil will preside over the land. Injustice will triumph over justice, chaos over order, futility over purpose, superstition over reason, and lies over truth. Only when humanity experiences this Hell on Earth will it fully appreciate that Dr. Petit's like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. Pull back the curtain of corporatism and you'll see a nerdy tyrant hiding behind it, furiously pulling the levers of stoicism in a disgraceful attempt to break down age-old institutions and customs. That sort of discovery should make any sane person realize that the first lies that Dr. Petit told us were relatively benign. Still, they have been progressing. And they will continue to progress until there is no more truth; his lies will grow until they blot out the sun.

Simply put, I'm sure Dr. Petit wouldn't want me to eavesdrop on his secret conversations. So why does he want to "solve" all our problems by talking them to death? In classic sophist fashion, I ask another question in reply: Has he ever considered what would happen if a small fraction of his time spent trying to brainwash the masses into submission was instead spent on something productive? This is not a question that we should run away from. Rather, it is something that needs to be addressed quickly and directly, because he may have access to weapons of mass destruction. Then again, I consider Dr. Petit to be a weapon of mass destruction himself. I suppose it's predictable, though terribly sad, that crafty twerps with stronger voices than minds would revert to scabrous behavior. But we need to look beyond the most immediate and visible problems with him. We need to look at what is behind these problems and understand that he's planning to exploit issues such as the global economic crisis and the increase in world terrorism in order to instigate planet-wide chaos. Planet-wide chaos is Dr. Petit's gateway to global tyranny, which will in turn enable him to champion censorship in the name of free speech, intolerance in the name of tolerance, and oppression in the name of freedom. If Dr. Petit were paying attention -- which it would seem he is not, as I've already gone over this -- he'd see that his pranks have experienced a considerable amount of evolution (or perhaps more accurately, genetic drift) over the past few weeks. They used to be simply bumptious. Now, not only are they both obdurate and refractory, but they also serve as unequivocal proof that one of Dr. Petit's myrmidons keeps throwing "scientific" studies at me, claiming they prove that our elected officials should be available for purchase by special-interest groups. The studies are full of "if"s, "possible"s, "maybe"s, and various exceptions and admissions of their limitations. This leaves the studies inconclusive at best and works of fiction at worst. The only thing these studies can possibly prove is that I don't care what others say about Dr. Petit. He's still aberrent, frightful, and he intends to encourage the most insincere philosophasters you'll ever see to see themselves as victims and, therefore, live by alibis rather than by honest effort. Dr. Petit claims that my bitterness at him is merely the latent projection of libidinal energy stemming from self-induced anguish. That claim illustrates a serious reasoning fallacy, one that is pandemic in his reports. Then again, Dr. Petit and I disagree about our civic duties. I insist that we must do our utmost to compare, contrast, and identify the connections among different classes of depraved McCarthyism as expeditiously as possible. Dr. Petit, on the other hand, believes that courtesy and manners don't count for anything.

It is not news that I have had enough of Dr. Petit's cocky, goofy screeds. What speaks volumes, though, is that he has certainly never given evidence of thinking extensively. Or at all, for that matter. To be blunt, Dr. Petit's modes of thought are merely a stalking horse. They mask his secret intention to level filth and slime at everyone opposed to his animadversions.

Forgive me, dear reader, but I must be so tactless as to remind you that Dr. Petit's methods are much subtler now than ever before. Dr. Petit is more adept at hidden mind control and his techniques of social brainwash are much more appealingly streamlined and homogenized. If he thinks that hanging out with the worst kinds of peevish criminals there are is a wonderful, culturally enriching experience, then he's sadly mistaken. I once had a nightmare in which Dr. Petit was free to promote racial superiority doctrines, ethnic persecution, imperialist expansion, and genocide. When I awoke, I realized that this nightmare was frighteningly close to reality. For instance, it is the case both in my nightmare and in reality that I, for one, like to face facts. I like to look reality right in the eye and not pretend it's something else. And the reality of our present situation is this: I have often maintained that reasonable people can reasonably disagree. Unfortunately, when dealing with Dr. Petit and his foot soldiers, that claim assumes facts not in evidence. So let me claim instead that Dr. Petit can't fool me. I've met misguided mythomaniacs before, so I know that were he alive today, Hideki Tojo would be Dr. Petit's most trustworthy ally. I can see Tojo joining forces with Dr. Petit to help him promote the ill-bred values of the worst types of egocentric,
censorious incubi there are (also known as Dr. Petit's proxies). While everybody believes in something, Dr. Petit's simple faith in allotheism will indisputably topple society.

Dr. Petit's hypocrisy is transparent. Even the least discerning among us can see right through it. The tone of Dr. Petit's politics is so far removed from reality, I find myself questioning what color the sky must be in Dr. Petit's world. Forgive me for boring you with all the gory details, but my dream is for tired eyes to open and see clearly, broken spirits to find new energy, and weary arms to find the strength to demand a thoughtful analysis and resolution of our problems with Dr. Petit. Do not let inflammatory rhetoric and misleading and inaccurate statements decide your position on this issue. He talks loudly about family values and personal responsibility, but when it comes to backing up those words with actions, all Dr. Petit does is borrow money and spend it on programs that displace meaningful discussion of an issue's merit or demerit with hunch and emotion. He can't possibly believe that he has achieved sainthood. He's chauvinistic, but he's not that chauvinistic.

If I have characterized Dr. Petit's intimates up to now as obstinate and obtrusive, it is only because Dr. Petit should work with us, not step in at the eleventh hour and hog all the glory. I have the following advice for him: If you can't manage to be grateful for all the things we've done for you, at least have a little dignity, don't whine, and don't expect to be treated like a fragile doll just because you have a theatrically hypersensitive soul and delusions of entitlement. There is a format he should follow for his next literary endeavor. It involves a topic sentence and supporting facts. I had thought the world was free of the most nutty pettifoggers I've ever seen. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that Dr. Petit wants to bombard me with insults.

Some people consider Dr. Petit's asseverations a necessary evil, but the truth is that Dr. Petit's attempts to violate strongly held principles regarding deferral of current satisfaction for long-term gains are much worse than mere quislingism. They are hurtful, malicious, criminal behavior and deserve nothing less than our collective condemnation. Some of the facts I'm about to present may seem shocking. This they certainly are. However, in public, Dr. Petit vehemently inveighs against corruption and sin. But when nobody's looking, Dr. Petit never fails to renege on an incredibly large number of promises. Lastly, right is right and wrong is wrong.

Apologies for lack of updates, I really haven't been assed to blog. I will however soon be working on like a whole blog for the year...

Now, I don’t know how many people read my blog, it could be just me, but that seems unlikely as I have had almost 1000 hits in the past few months, so who knows…

Anyway, today I feel like writing lots because, well, I do. Even if it’s just for me…

UCAS
Well I finally reached the stage where my UCAS is completely done, Mr Futcher has sent the form to the Power and the Glory (read Dr. Petit) who on Monday will send it off to the UCAS office who will then distribute it to the universities. For your most brilliant information, my six chosen universities (I want to study for a BEng in Chemical Engineering at all of them except Leeds which is a MEng)

That list was in alphabetical order, the uni I would really like to go to is LBoro, and I have been predicted ABC at A-Level and I only need BBC for LBoro, so hopefully I should get an offer from Dr Shama (admissions tutor for ChEng) by half term…!

School
As I said above I have been predicted ABC at A-Level which is really good as I would only predict myself BBC, I also got predicted a C for Systems and Control which made me laugh because I got a D.

Chemistry is going well, my homework is back up to a Level too (back down actually, but a 1 is the best one can get!

Maths is hard but also fulfilling, we have finally finished trigonometry which is good because I find it hard and Mrs Ellis doesn’t teach it very well. We still haven’t decided which applied Maths module we will be doing this year. Hopefully it will be M1 (mechanics) D1 (decision maths) would be alright, but I really don’t want to do S2 (statistics) despite the fact that I got 71% in the S1 module.

Computing is ok, bit boring though. But, I have to revise loads for it to bring up my grade in it because I just might be able to get BBB at A-Level. Who knows!

General Studies, well, heh, General Studies. I, umm, well, don’t go…

Work
I had a really, to put it bluntly sh*te day at work last week, I’ve mentioned it before, but I think all of the women were on PMT. Tracey definitely was, as she was muttering things about me. Got to be there tomorrow which sucks because I really don’t want to got especially after last week, hopefully it should be better as Vicki will be in and Rhi will be in all day and they are my main well “allies” in that world…

Today is a great day in the history of the Ra, Khepri and Anubis music libraries. I got my 3000^th song, it was “Tied Up Too Tight” from “Stars of CCTV” by Hard-Fi. Apparently the new iPod (or iFive as I affectionately like to call it!) is coming out next week at the “One more thing” event in San Francisco, which would be cool as I want a new iPod even though I really don’t need one. The rumour sights can’t contain themselves everything from an iPod video to ProMac updates and from a plain new 5G iPod to an Intel Mac 8 months ahead of schedule! Who knows? Mr Jobs! We shall just have to wait until October 12^th event…

Right, I'm gonna try and write this blog entry without any geekness, because I'm not really a geek, I just like Macs, and Mozilla, a lot.

Of Pasties and Pies
Well, I'm still working at W.C. Rowe, and thats fine, ish. I wish I could have got a job at HMV, but I just don't think I will. Ghey. My Pasty Shop, or "Pie Factory" as Master Ben Graham calls it is fine. £4.85 an hour is brilliant for a 17 year old- I know guys on less than £4 an hour. I don't like the cleaning at W.C. Rowe, or the continual bitch fighting between the various women there, (I am the only guy, or as I like to say, the "Token" guy).

Of Chemistry, Computing and Maths
Well, I did mention this in my very geeky last entry, but, the geekness probably turned you off (no sexual pun intended). I have finally made it two my 13th (Reception doesn't count) and final year of school! This is really cool, and I'm really enjoying it. Last week I was only in for three days, (that's only the "cool" reason why I'm enjoying it) Chemistry is brilliant! I made NyLon last week and this really weird big pink polymer thingy. Maths is damn difficult, but I'm quite enjoying it. Computing is, well, Computing, I sit in on a PC, play on my iBook, talk about geek shizzle, do abou ten minutes of coursework, and watch James' work get deleted by Word! Fun!

Well, I don't know what else to write about. It's all quiet on the Western (Girlfriend) front, unfortunately. Charlotte, whom I saw today blatantly still has feelings for me, but in accordance with the third doctrine "Thou shalt not go out with a girl twice if thou hath dumped her" I will never, ever go out with her again, even if I wanted too, which I don't.

OK. I'm sorry for the big "ad" at the top, but it is not an "ad" it is me supporting Camino Browser, which is weeks (if not days) away from a 1.0 release. If you use a Mac (which I hope you do) then use this browser, it's better than the Firefox Mac release because it is made using Cocoa- Mac native coding, so it runs a lot quicker than Firefox which uses it's own coding. AND the icon is damn sexy. Just worship it:Also, after my brief dabbling in Ubuntu Linux a few weeks ago, I really didn't like the Gnome interface, and so I stopped using it. I was on the Ubuntu website today, and I saw "Kubuntu" and it also had a much cooler logo (which you don't have to worship, so I won't put it here!) it is Ubuntu with KDE as the desktop enviroment, I downloaded the Live CD, and am currently using it, it is a lot lot better (but it's no MacOS X!) and I'm downloading the Install CD to install as a Virtual PC on my iBook!

Anyway. Enough geekness... My life

Year 13 has started, Chemistry is really good. Maths is hard, but I'm also enjoying that (and helping Maitland get his PowerBook to work!). Computing, I sit around and go on the web.

Oh wait yes! I'm in Serenia on Myst IV- Revelation! I just completed a b*stard of a puzzle in the Dream World, but I finished it! Woo and Yay!

There's a prolem with my key I mean my key. Dammit the key etween the v and n keys. Otherwise known as B. I have to really hit my keyoard to make it work which is a pain in the um!

iPod nano vs. iPod mini
OK. If you don't know, Apple have just replaced the iPod mini, with the iPod nano and DAMN DOES IT LOOK GOOD! I wants one. Lots. I know I have an iPod 3G. But. I want a new one. And here are the reasons in: The Imperial Kahvanian Guide as to why the iPod nano pwns ur ass

It comes in White (or Black). Not candy colours.
It has a colour screen
It's "impossibly small"
It's an iPod
It may have small sizes, but, 4GB is enough.

Opera Sucks
Yeah, I got a free full copy of Opera 8. (i.e. No Ads), and its not worth a penny. It doesn't display code well, even the Opera website isn't displayed properly. That made me laugh, and move back to Firefox. I've got version 1.4 (1.5 Beta 1). It's really cool. FYI. I use Camino 1.0a1 on my iBook.

My Geek Score has increased by 2% thanks to this post.

Which is really good, because it means my life is on track. I don't have to exchange at Birmingham New Street, just straight to L-Boro!

In other news, Straylight Run is my new official favorite band, with the song "Exitensialism on Prom Night" Most Played on both of my iTunes libraries (on my iBook and my Web PC), and the 10 or so other tracks more often played than that of any other album (bare in mind, I only got the album last week!

Also, the ahem, Album of the Soundtrack of the Trailer of the Film of Monty Python and the Holy Grail is funny and cool. Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation by Funeral for a Friend is also really good. But I don't think my parents like the lyrics, which makes it REALLY good.

Anyway, I've got to go to the bloody beach with them in Bob's bloody car, which means I am taking every talisman and good luck charm I can with me. I will need it. Pray to whatever Gods you have that I return, sane. Oh and my dear Grandmother is making pasties, which means I won't be able to live it down: "Are they like Rowe's pasties" "How do you think I did?" Which means I need a little more than your prayers to remain sane...

OK, so if you read my blog (which you don't), you'll have noticed that I dissapeard for two weeks with no reasoning, unless you read the Harry Potter thingy carefully, you won't have realised I've been in Nova Scotia, Canada for the past two weeks.

Review of Canada 2005
Umm, well, I'll start with the nitty-gritty, four things happened that I, and in fact all of us wished hadn't happened but fate decreed that it would, and it did. That is all I have to say on them, if you know what I'm talking about.

My favorite part of the holiday: the Island, officially called "Round Island" but rechristend Shabba-Woah Island, this was really good, I did cannoeing, fish gulleting and fire lighting. Oh, and I also went to my own island, and because I was the only memeber of our group to land on it, I renamed "Small Cliff Island" to Lesser Kahvania, in respect of the Great Nation I once represented...

What else was really good: Fundy Camp, this was amazing. From the people (read Patty and Tiffany) to what we did everyday. I miss it all, and I really want to go back to the one next year, but I doubt I'll be able...

Mahone Bay is the most beautiful town I've ever seen. Halifax (NS Version :P) is also really nice, what I wish Plymouth was like...

Canada was (read is) amazing. The End.

My dabbling in Ubuntu Linux
I managed to briefly get The Hoary Hedgehog (Ubuntu 5.04- not version five, version two actually from April [04] 2005 [5.]). It was awful, first I couldn't get it running on Virtual PC 7, and when I got it running on a live CD, it looked like it was made by a kid who ran out of crayons, and who doesn't know how a mouse works.

A Review and Speculative Essay on the Half-Blood Prince

This is, as promised my review etc on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Clearly, this contains plot spoilers, as I mention in the review. Hopefully, this will be posted on MuggleNet in the near future, as this was my plan. NB, this is a slightly edited version to the one I hope to put on MN... And so to it:

Well, I am proud to say I am one of the 1.7 million people worldwide who finished Half-Blood Prince in the first 24 hours of its release (I got that stat. from BBC News), anyway. I agree with most true Potter fans in saying that this was the 2^nd best book in the series, after Prisoner of Azkaban.

I have been promising myself that I would write some form of review/essay etc on the Half-Blood Prince when it came out, and well, here it is. Please excuse my grammar and spelling, I’m not very good at English! (I am British though, I just can’t write stuff)

Anyway, to the review. I will be referring to the important events in the books, so please don’t read this unless you have already read the book, I don’t want to spoil the excitement! I think I can start off by saying that this book was good, very good in fact, but it could have been a lot better, but I think we must thank Rowling for not making it better as she is (pardon the cliché) saving her best ‘til last! This book is definitely building up for the ultimate climax of the series in the next book, and the cliffhanger, and not really leaving it on a happy note proves this to me.

The first two chapters were, to put it simply, weird. I read the first line and checked that I really was reading from the Half-Blood Prince, and not some political satire! But, this chapter was a good refresher, and as I had only managed to read Order of the Phoenix during the Half-Blood Prince build up, it was good to remember what had happened in the previous 5 books, despite the plots being firmly implanted in my mind! The second chapter, about Snape did in fact shock me! Although I had suspected Snape, it did (I’m sorry about me clichés!) take my breath away!

The rest of the pre-Hogwarts section was interesting, with many “Wider Plot” points picked up, although minor, and I will not talk about these here, you’ll have to find them for yourselves! I thought Slughorn was weird, but a cool character, and not in my usual Slytherin model. I did think that he was a potions man, he seemed to well, I don’t know, but I couldn’t see him as a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.

And so, Harry and the gang got to Hogwarts, when I turned to Chapter 9- The Half Blood Prince, I thought (rubbing my hands in my head!) here we go, what we’ve all been waiting for! But no, just a short mention at the end. Although the actual fact that Snape is the Half-Blood Prince has a minor part in the story (Woo! Harry’s good at potions!), looking back this book really is a lot about Snape, the revelation that he is evil, how he finally got his dream to be the DADA teacher. As you can see, I’m just picking up some of my thoughts that I had during my first read through (of many, I’m going to read it on the plane to Canada on Thursday…). I can’t remember where exactly, but when Hermione and Ron were talking about romance issues, I was like “Kiss her! Kiss her!” but, alas, no, he had to stick with as Hermione (I think) so eloquently put “Lav-Lav”.

I did like the sound of Felix Felicis, and damn I could have done with some last June during my AS Level exams (British qualification we take when we’re 16/17) and I would be laughing all the way to University with my 4 A’s…

Before I move on to speculation, I’m going to give my final verdict. This was, as I said before a very, very good book, only losing out to Prisoner of Azkaban because of the lack of plot twists. However, of the last 3 I think this was the best. And so, I have given this book 8/10, (NB, I’d give Azkaban 9)

And so we come to what is pure speculation, questions that I wrote down in my magic book (a book I always carry around that has random stories, pictures, and things stuck into) that I want to briefly touch on:

I may be very much mistaken, but, what was the important thing about Lily Potter apparently being talked about in Book 6? The fact that she is good at potions!? This seems far to superfluous, I think that I have read the rumours, wrongly and this “important thing” is in Book 7…

Is Malfoy Jr. a Death Eater? Methinks so, it would make sense, the arm concerns, the fact that he is doing Voldemort’s bidding, however, I don’t think it is totally payback for Lucius’ imprisonment, I think that has something to do with it, but also it may be that Draco quite likes the idea of being a Death Eater, as he always seems to crave attention.

Something else, could Master Harry be a Horcrux? Could the famous scar be the final Horcrux? This I believe could be fitted in to the story

I now can see that there is definite end to the series in sight, and also a wider plot (one would hope so with over 85% of the series complete!) and definitely although it is incomplete, the wider plot is there. I don’t want to talk about it, as it this is a Book 6 review, I may do a similar thing with Book 7 and then the wider plot…

I’ve been discussing this book with my other Potter-Potty friends, and they all agree with me on this, I don’t think Dumbledore is 100% dead, yes, as a human he has passed-on, but he must have left an imprint of himself on the world, maybe like a nicer (i.e. doesn’t have to kill) form of Horcrux… (Other than his portrait) Dumbledore’s animagus form has been rumoured to be a Phoenix, his patronus definitely is a Phoenix, Rowling said so on her website. Phoenix’s can be re-born, as we have seen twice before, and so couldn’t Dumbledore being so Phoenixish be reborn? I hope so, he was my favourite character!

Lastly, I have been wondering how the Half-Blood Prince could have been inserted into Chamber of Secrets. I think it may have just been a side plot, but it is still an interesting thought and I need to look into this...

Well, I did it, over 1000 words on Half-Blood Prince, I hope this made sense to you, it really just is my thoughts written down. Before I triumphantly finish this, I want to say that Rowling has done it again, and produced a book nothing like we thought! Only 6% of the people who voted on the Scholastic pole thought that Snape was the Prince, I personally voted for “someone else”. Thank you to JK Rowling for creating a brilliant world, and allowing me to write 1200+ words on it…

Well, at 08:56:17 (or something like that), I finished book 6 of the Harry Potter phenomenen, I would put this book second in the series (in order of goodness) after Prisoner of Azkaban and 1st because of the ending climax/centrepeice.

I may well write a long essay type thingy on this soon, as I promised myself I would. But I may not do that before Canada...

Last night, whilst reading The Half-Blood Prince, I was rang by my ex-girlfriend, Charlotte, here is a rough transcript of the conversation:

Charlotte: Hey Babes it me
Me: Indeed, You
Charlotte: How are you?
Me: I am well
Charlotte: I just thought I'd tell you I'm gonna be there tomorrow*
Me: Very well, Good bye.
Charlotte: As I hang up What?

This was a really odd conversation as the 6th Law of the Cult of Boyhood states that "For the first month after a spilt up, thou shalt not have purposful connection with thy ex-girlfriend if thou perpertrated the split-up"**. So, you can see this was odd, I did not really want to see her, she obviously wants to see me and as I quote from a post-spilt-text message "i still have feelins for u love me x x". I no longer have any "feelings" in that way, so it is hard for us to have a decent friend relationship before she realises that I no longer want a "Eros" (but not fully) relationship.

Ya, I know, I haven't updated since like forever, (13 Days 6 Hours 20 Minutes and 12 Seconds), but I'm actually still alive (and 23.6% sexier), and so, after that time above, I, His Holiness the Kahvahn have decided to compress my thoughts of the past 2 weeksish.

iBookness

After almost 6 years of Windows usage, I finally took the plunge and converted to MacOS X, and MY GOD WHY DIDN'T I DO IT EARLIER!!!!!! It's such an amazing operating system, and the start up movie, welcome in 10 or so different languages in front of the Aqua Blue (Panther) wallpaper, and a really cool song in the background was worth it, rather than the XP start up which was "Welcome to Windows XP, the new operating system from Micro$oft which brings your PC to life", my PC thus crashed...

Anyway, its damn sexy and pwns ur ass, and is way faster than all 3 of my previous PC's. Hell, why am I trying to convert you (to MacOS X, not Windows, unless you have a crash fetish) let Patriarch Steve II (Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple) do it. Ready? CONVERT INFIDEL! Anyway, enough boasting about me new iBook. (Phwoar iBook)

Well, the antithesis (big word) of what I usually feel like, I'm gonna write lots for this entry, because I've got nothing better to do. As I'm barely a C candidate for English, there will probably be loads of grammatical errors and spelling errors, and it will probably ramble on a little bit, but thats cool. Oh goodness, I'm rambling now :P.

My iBook has been ordered and is on it's way. I have no idea when it's going to arrive, the Apple store says 3 to 7 days, the dispatch e-mail said 7 to 8 days. It should be here by this time next week at the very very latest. I quoth from the "Shipment Status" page:

The Monster Raving Looney Party did well in the election, although we were defeaed by the Liberal Doddercrats, we had fun campaiging, took none of it seriously, and if you take a look at how many votes we had (about 20%) that is about 2000 times what the Looney's usually get in the election, Dodd, however got about 25%, which is what the state voted. Therefore, we did the best campaigning, and I being the Shadow Minister for All Things Moderately Ridiculous declare the Official Monster Raving Looney Party winners of the Mock Election...

Exams are but 2 days away (Chemistry Practical on Thurs), I'm doing well in all but Systems, because well, Heap and Horrill are useless, I'm sorry, but they're good engineers, sure, but they can't teach. At the moment, I'm writing in my blog (No? Really?) while Horrill is struggling with the paper with Miles... Chemistry is doing well, and I'm on target definitley for a B and if I'm lucky an A. Computing, well a high B in the coursework was good, a low first exam grade was bad, but hopefully, I can bring that up to a C with 2509 (the current exam) and then even higher when I retake 2506 next January. Maths, I finally managed to get it up to a C, which both me and Mr Maitland are really pleased with. Enough school, it bores me.

Work surprisingly was quite good on Saturday, Tracey wasn't a cow, and the benevolent Kahvahn has halted the execution of Citizen Tracey Boyd until further notice. To spoil the good day, the company apparently are not going to honour my trip to Canada (which incidently is in 65 days time :D), which basically means I'll have to go A.W.O.L, pretend to be ill, or hope that they will have a change of heart...

In other holiday related news, I'm going to Italy! Woo! And Vatican City double Woo! Which means, I'll get to see me old pal Joe Ratzinger! (Pope Benedict XVI for the imbeciles). I can't wait to see the eternal city...

Hmm, I think I'll have a mini-rant about Dodd now. Mr Michael "The Tw*t of Our Times" Dodd has recently purchased an iPod mini 2nd Gen, pretty cool you might say, well, Yes, but No for the following reasons:

It's Green, which is an awful colour, only beaten on the eww-score by the Gold iPod mini (Rest In Peace)
It's an iPod mini, apparent computer genius Dodd should know that the mini is a rip off, because for just £70 (if he got the 4GB, which being a cheap skate he probably did) more he could have got a full 20GB iPod...
He keeps taking it out and tries to show it off, and fails. ITS JUST AN iPod FOR GOODNESS SAKE! If it was an iPod photo, it might be pretty cool, but no. [/rant]

Among other events, which I will not go into, I finally bought my iBook. If your a geek, like me, you will be interested in the statistics. OK. Well. It is the same as any regular 12inch iBook except for the following

512MB of RAM (As opposed to 256MB- my reason: Tiger needs 256, this will probably be the last major Apple app that needs 256, also, I want a faster computer
60GB Hard Drive (As opposed to 30GB- my reason: I need more space, I'm going to be storing vast amounts of A Level notes, coursework. Loads of music- my iPod has almost 10GB, and thats only because my PC can't hold any more.

It will use MacOS X 10.4 (Tiger) which is really cool because it is, and I quote "The Worlds most sophisticated operating system" I have only seen it working briefly on a teachers PowerBook G4, but it was blisteringly fast, and it only came out a few weeks ago, so it must be good.

It comes pre-package with AppleWorks 6, iLife '05, MacOS X (Obviously), 14 pre installed dashboard widgets, and loads of random stuff which I haven't been botherd to look at on the Apple site (check out link of the post).

It's currently being built, that apparently takes 3 days because its my iBook, as opposed to one off the shelf, then 3-7 days to ship, Apple are really good for shipping, so it should be here by the end of next week, just in time for me to play with when I'm supposed to be revising for my AS Level exams!

Oh, and just so I can oggle at it when I'm reading my own blog, heres a nice picture of it (not mine)...

I loved her. I can't believe how much I loved her. You cannot begin to comprehend.

A month. Just one, perfect, or imperfect [which made it greater still] month; she saw my highs and my lows, kept me open and concious of what was going on, because she needed me to be there for her, and vice versa. She needed me to survive.

We were going to spend the Bank Holiday together. I told her only last night of how I loved her and how we'd spend the day together, just her and I. How would I know that today I would wake, to find her not there? That, when I did find her, her body was stiff; cold. She had no breath in her tiny body any longer, and I emitted the most animalistic, heart wrenching sob. The knife just turned and turned in my chest as I thought of how, only a few hours ago, she was there, full of life.

And, now she's gone.

Today, I will spend the Bank Holiday alone. Cold. As she is.
I will never find another as wildly tame as she. No one could ever replace her. She has secured a place in my heart; a safe place for memories, which will fade, until I cannot remember the exact colour of her body, or the scent that clung to her.

Maybe the memories will be tarnished by the image of her lying there, motionless. Her sticky bit was cracked open slightly, the greyest white. But, maybe, that will just be etched onto my mind, and I will somehow carry it with me, trying to overcome the aching in my heart.

Well, I finally saw it. It was really quite good. I won't bore you with a review. You can go to Empire for their review, I mostly agree with it, and the Official Kahvanian Rating is (drumroll please) 8 out of 10.

In other news, work was ok yesterday. Tracey still needs to be shot, and under the KCD Justice Laws, she should have been executed within 10 minutes of meeting me because of this law.

OK, today, I felt like writing lots and lots and lots. So, that is what you are going to get, lots and lots.

You may have noticed several new things on this site not blog-entry-ish. Firstly, the MAKE POVERTY HISTORY white band. I wear one of these, I have got three, but I only where the rubberlike one. PLEASE support this campaign, its really really good and if we support it, it will do "what it says on the tin" Make Poverty History and Make History. The linkage is this.

Also, I saw this hellava amazing image on deviantART. You can visit my page by clicking the link on the left. However, my work was dwarfed by something I saw today this is such a brilliant piece of art, and now is my current wallpaper. I have become completely addicted to an old school tile based puzzle game called Chip's Challenge (hence link). I had this game on my first ever PC and never got further than level 20 (there are 149) , but now, after the advent of the web, all of the passwords can be found on a website.
I have bought the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Movie) OST and Book (Hence the entry title)
There are about 20 days until I buy my iBook.
My EES report is almost done.
After a great revelation yesterday, I have now complete 2507 Task 3 (Computing) in it's entirety.

Ok, so, I lied, I said I wasn't going to post, but I'm quite bored and I'm just gonna ramble on about the topics stated in the title. Ahem. Yes.

If you don't use this browser, WHY NOT?! Well, I'll tell you why you should go to the Firefox website now. (These are my reasons for converting, the Firefox website will have numerous other reasons...)
1. Tabbed browsing: Annoyed of having seventy-five-million IE browsers open at any one time? Yes? Well with Firefox you dont, you have "tabbed browsing" where all of the seperate website open in seperate tabs in just one window.
2. It's Opensource: Anyone can create additions that can do anything from mail updaters, to weather forecasting, to just simple bug fixing, it's possible to do it with Firefox
3. It looks flash: I don't know why, but opening a Firefox browser after spending over 4 years with the &$"))!!!$ IE, was like a breath of fresh air, it just looks slicker.
4. Its not Microsoft: 'Nuff said
5. Security: Microsofts Internet Explorer has numerous security bugs, Firefox, despite having these bugs, updates them, Firefox 1.0.0 was launched in Nov 2005, 6 months on, we're on 1.0.2, two updates which fixed many of these bugs. IE has had very few updates. The main being SP2 (which many people say is shit but that's irrelavant) was only the second since 2001. Stupid eh?

Good Moooooorning!! How are we ladies? Well, I am pleased to say I survived the viewing of Miss Congeniality 2and well, it was, funny in places, (only because of the camp guy), but it was craply directed and the only thing that kept it going was Sandra Bullock (or Bollock or whatever)'s continual stupidity, which was SO fake. Anyway. The reason why I managed to regain sanity after almost breaking the 4th Law of the Guy Charter was because I saw 24 Season 4 Episode 15 when I got home. It was quite good, and it still leaves it with huge suspense as to what the main "thing" is (i.e. Nuke etc.), I don't think it can be something as simple as the assasination of the President on Air Force One, but that would be cool all the same and PALMERS BACK SOON! Woo! No Kim though (Woo x2, I don't like her story lines, bar S1, she had no real role, it was just her being a stupid little girl [/kimrant].)

In other news, I dissapear to Spring Harvest tomorrow... not looking forward to this as I guess I should be. I don't know what I'll do.

Hokey Dokey, well, what am I up to, well, I'm freezing my bollocks off *doing* Chemistry module 3 plan. It's really stupid, it has no relation to the mock plan (which makes sense) but it isn't really a real experiment (with like lots of things to measure), so its hard. I'm rambling on, so I'll stop.

I was supposed to be seeing Holly later today, but she has other business (and I quote "family calls"), this is the 2nd time she's done this, so I was really pissed off last night. What have I been doing today on the wide world of the world wide web (WWWWW) (© Kahvahn 2005), well, I've been a realy sad person and looked at all of the old Google holiday logos from long ago. There can be pretty cool, they "museum" can be found here my favorite is this one:

It's about Gaston Julia, whoever she is, some artist or mathematcian by the look of it... Anyway Google are gonna hate me as your not supposed to post these images, but its not like I'm blagging it, I'm blogging it (Phwoar what a cliche).

Away from the WWWWW, I watched the first half an hour or so of the Fellowship of the Ring on my new sexy beast of a TV (32 inches of total sexyness).

So to conclude, what have we learnt today. That the kahvahn is a very sad person who watches chick flicks, Lord of the Rings, and looks at google's old holiday logo's. Well well well.
